Steve Delehanty
Area Wildlife Manager,
U.S. Fish and
Wildlife Service - Stevens County, Minn.
Steve Delehanty serves as manager of the
Morris Wetland Management District in Minnesota. Delehanty
and his staff of 12 are responsible for managing 244 federally
owned waterfowl production areas encompassing over 51,000 acres.
Delehanty has a particular interest
in the interactions of agricultural production and wildlife
habitat availability. Delehanty has worked for the Fish and
Wildlife Service on national wildlife refuges and wetland
management districts in Minnesota, Illinois, Montana, and
Wisconsin since 1986.

Kurt
Deter
Attorney, Environmental
and Water Law
Rinke Noonan - St. Cloud, Minn.
A native of Foley, Minnesota, Kurt received a degree
in history from Gustavus Adolphus College and his law degree
from Hamline Law School.
Kurt represents counties, watershed districts and landowners
across the State of Minnesota. He is a frequent speaker on
environmental and water law issues throughout Minnesota. His
opinions on water and drainage issues are sought throughout
the State of Minnesota. |

Troy Goodnough
Clean Up the River Environment (CURE) board member
Resident of Morris, Minnesota
Troy is a board member of CURE, a Minnesota-based grassroots
organization that is working to focus public awareness on the
Upper Minnesota River Watershed and to take action to restore
and protect its water quality, biological integrity and natural
beauty for future generations. CURE is working to create support
for a voluntary, incentive-based conservation program targeted
at reducing sediment and runoff from agricultural lands.
His
educational background is in chemical engineering and chemistry
from the University of Minnesota. |

Bob Hartkopf
Educator, ecologist, and filmmaker
Bob Hartkopf is a retired high school
science teacher and a lifetime ecologist and environmental
activist. Growing up on his family’s farm near Appleton,
Minnesota in Swift County, Hartkopf became a one man activist
group as one of the earliest voices for wetland restoration
in Minnesota and the Upper Midwest with his award winning film
Cry of the Marsh. |

Tom Kalahar
Conservationist, Redwood County, Minn.
Tom Kalahar has 28 years
of experience at the Renville SWCD. He is a graduate of the University
of Minnesota, Crookston His major program responsibilities are
easement programs and feedlot inspections. Tom is currently working
with several agencies on a new easement program to protect Granite
Rock Outcrops in the MN River Valley. The LCCMR funded this project
to protect these rare and unique areas of Renville & Redwood
counties. |

Margaret
Kuchenreuther
Associate Professor of Biology,
University
of Minnesota, Morris
Dr. Margaret Kuchenreuther
is an Associate Professor of Biology at the University
of Minnesota, Morris. She
is a plant ecologist and conservation biologist who is interested
in rare plants and rare plant communities. She teaches
courses such as Ecology, Conservation Biology. and Plant
Systematics and Evolution.
Much of her research at
UMM has focused on how different approaches to prairie
management (e.g., timing of prescribed burns or type of
grazing system) affect the growth and reproduction of prairie
plants. She
has also spent a number of years working on the plant population
dynamics, genetics and conservation of northern monkshood,
a rare plant that is on the Federal Threatened species
list.

Harlan Madsen
Farmer and Kandiyohi County (Minn.)
Commissioner
Lake Lillian, Minnesota
Harlan Madsen owns and operates a fourth-generation
family farm in Lake Lillian, Minnesota specializing in dairy
livestock and grain. Harlan is a member of Kandiyohi
County Board serving District 5 for the past 12 years. He
on the Public Health Advisory Board, the Agriculture and Rural Development Task
Force and the County Futures Committee with the Association of Minnesota Counties.
He is also a current member and past chairman of the Minnesota
River board. |

Joe Magner
Senior Research Scientist,
Minnesota Pollution Control Agency (MPCA)
Joe Magner received degrees from
the University of Wisconsin and Minnesota; he is a licensed
professional hydrologist (WI), a licensed professional soil
scientist (MN) and an American Institute of Hydrology registered
professional hydrogeologist. Dr. Magner is a senior research
scientist with over 28 years at the Minnesota Pollution Control
Agency. He is currently researching issues related to watershed
management and restoration, total maximum daily loads and the
development of the Clean Water Legacy Program. Dr. Magner has
five adjunct appointments with the University of Minnesota
and he currently teaches courses in hydrology and water quality
in the Environmental Science, Policy, and Management program. |

Bev Struxness
Farmer, Milan, Minnesota
Bev is a farmer and Community Education
Director for Lac qui Parle Valley school district. She grew up
on a dairy farm in the Fergus Falls area and has lived on her
husband's family farm for 40 years as third generation farmers.
She is a board member of the West Central Regional Sustainable Development Partnership,
the Greater Milan Initiative and a member of the Land Stewardship
Project.
Bev graduated with a BA from the University of Minnesota and
received a masters degree in educational leadership administration
from St. Cloud State University.
